SOUTHERN EASY SALISBURY STEAK
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1 egg, lightly beaten
3 teaspoons ketchup, divided
1 teaspoon mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, divided
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef stock
Directions
In a large bowl combine the ground beef, egg, 2 teaspoons ketchup, mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder and salt. Mix well and shape into four hamburger patties.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. When hot, add hamburger patties and sear for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until browned. Transfer to a plate.
Add the flour to the fat in the pan, whisking together until combined. Cook for 1 or 2 minutes to cook the flour taste out of the mixture.
Slowly add the beef stock, remaining teaspoon of ketchup and remaining teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Whisk together.
Place hamburger patties back into the gravy and cook for 20 minutes until the patties are cooked through and the gravy has thickened
