MEXICAN CHURROS

MEXICAN CHURROS
Ingredients
400 g Flour
400 ml boiling water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Coating for Churros
1 1/2 cups Sugar
Cinnamon to taste (optional)
Directions
Sift flour, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
Add the boiling water gradually to the flour mixture and mix until you get a very thick, smooth paste.
Allow to stand for about an hour.
Place coating ingredients in a container with a cover that you can place churros in to get covered in sugar! Or place sugar in a large paper bag that you can toss churros gently in! Remember cinnamon can be added to this sugar!!
Heat up a deep frying pan of oil until it is very hot and oil is shimmering.
Using an icing bag or a freezer bag with the corner cut to give it a hole about the size of you little finger, squeeze the paste into the pan of hot oil!
Use a scissors to cut the sausage shaped pieces off at desired length or about 10 cm.
Fry until golden brown and crunchy.
If pieces are too thick it will not be cooked inside. You can check this by cutting one in half lengthways. If this is so fry it again.
As soon as hot churros are removed from oil place in a container with a cover that contains sugar and shake careful so that churros are covered in sugar! Cinnamon can also be in sugar!
You can dip churros in melted chocolate, too!
Enjoy!!!
