CALAVERAS COOKIES RECIPE FOR TODAY

Cream together
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg

Add
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Sift together
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda

Mix all ingredients together. Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick and cut in shape. Bake at 400 degrees for about 5 minutes. Cookies will be soft.

Frost as show above with icing!
